Allen County Prepares for Primary Election

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If the early numbers are any indication, it could be a busy day at the polls election day.

Beth Dlug is with the Allen County Election board, she says about 1,000 more voters have cast votes – absentee or early voting – compared to the 2010 primary. That’s generally a sign of increased interest in candidates and their stand on issues.

She says there could be some issue with voters finding the right polling location. About 47 percent of would-be voters in the county will have a change in their polling location. You can confirm at indianavoters.com

In Allen County, there are contested races in the 3rd District us House, State Senate in District 15, State Rep in the 84 and 85 districts, sheriff, prosecutor, county commissioner and county council. A number of unchallenged candidates dot the ballot for both parties.

To speed up your time at the polls, make sure you have identification with you, usually a state issued ID like a drivers license.
