FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Allen County Public Library will start seeking proposals for a new tracking system for its books and other materials.

The library’s board of trustees approved a resolution Thursday to seek proposals for a program that uses Radio Frequency ID, or RFID, to keep track of their items. The News-Sentinel reports the Library will start installing RFID targets that will let them track which branch their items have been returned to, as well as if an item’s in transit between branches.

It should help them figure out where books or other materials are needed the most.
