Allen County Coroner’s office ID’s 2 crash victims

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The victims of two separate Thursday night crashes have been identified.

On Thursday night at 9:48 p.m., William James Stevens, 24, of Fort Wayne was traveling east on Till Road at a high rate of speed. At some point, he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed it. The Allen County Coroner’s office determined he died from blunt force trauma from the crash. His death has been ruled an accident.

Stevens is the 23rd traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County this year.

Later in the night around after 11:09 p.m., Launn G. Simon, 54, of Fort Wayne was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on US 30 and US 33. It was determined her car slid underneath the back of a semi trailer. She was pinned in the car until firefighters could get her out.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office ruled her death an accident. She died from blunt force trauma.

Simon is the 24th traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2016.

Both accidents are under investigation.
