FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Allen County officials are preparing to pay out on a federal settlement.

Allen County was sued by more than 960 people in February 2010.  They say they were held in the county jail for longer than the legal limit for authorities to bring them before a judge, thus violating their Fourth Amendment rights.

Most of those cases have to do with long weekends before the County decided to have judges serve a rotating schedule on Saturdays, according to the Journal Gazette.

There’s no word yet on just how much the County will have to pay out, but a similar case finished earlier this month in Whitley County cost $725,000. Federal court records cited by the Journal Gazette say Allen County still needs to track down some of the plaintiffs.
