ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Allen County has a new director of redevelopment.

The Allen County Board of Commissioners announced Wednesday that Elissa McGauley will start on June 20 as the Allen County director of redevelopment.

“We place a great deal of importance on this position and we’re excited to be able to bring onboard a person with the expertise and connections in the community that Elissa has,” said Commissioner Nelson Peters.

In 1996, McGauley started working in the city of Fort Wayne’s Community Development Division as an economic development specialist. She was promoted to economic development manager in 2014.

She will work closely with the county’s Redevelopment Commission. She’ll also coordinate with the city of Fort Wayne, Greater Fort Wayne, Inc. and the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership.
