Allen County Attorney Representing Purdue Shooting Suspect

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WOWO):  One of the attorney's charged with representing the Purdue shooting suspect has a Fort Wayne connection.

Robert Gevers II, is the former Allen County Prosecutor and practices law locally.

Gevers says he‘s waiting to hear back from the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor‘s Office on their latest findings in the case.

A tentative trial date has been set for April 22nd. The court entered a not-guilty plea on Cousins‘ behalf Thursday. Gevers says it‘s too early to even speculate about the case.

He says Cousins‘ family extends its condolences to the Boldt family.

Prosecutors and police say Cousins stabbed and shot 21-year-old Andrew Boldt during a class inside Purdue‘s Electrical Engineering Building in West Lafayette Tuesday.
