Alleged Attacker of 93-Year-Old Set to Face Trial

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP): A central Indiana teenager charged with sexually attacking a 93-year-old woman has been released from a state psychiatric hospital to face trial.

Madison County Jail commander Andy Williams says the 17-year-old boy was transported to the jail on Wednesday from the Logansport State Hospital.

A judge on Thursday set a March trial date for the teen on burglary, criminal deviate conduct and other adult felony charges for the July 16 attack on the woman inside her Anderson home. He was arrested five weeks later.

The teen was sent to the state hospital in October after two mental health experts found he was borderline mentally disabled, but disagreed on whether he was mentally competent to assist in his defense.
