Alabama Man in Critical Condition After Single Vehicle Crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): State Police responded to and investigated a single vehicle crash that critically injured a 52-year-old man from Alabama late last night on I-69 in northern Allen County. 


Around 11:30, Norman Baker from Moulton, Alabama was traveling northbound on I-69 near the 317 mile marker in Allen County when it drove off the east side of the roadway. After striking at least one sign, the vehicle drove into a ditch where it came to a final rest. Baker was found unconscious inside of the vehicle by responding emergency crews who were on scene within moments of the crash. 

Baker was taken to the hospital in critical condition. It is believed that he may have had a medical episode that caused him to crash his vehicle. No other information is available at this time and the crash remains under investigation.
