MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (WOWO): Eight people were arrested and two people were shot Thursday night after police say a drug deal turned into a robbery.

After an investigation, police believe a drug deal had been set up but the buyers had no intention of paying for the pound of marijuana. When they tried to steal the drugs, the 17-year-old dealer pulled out a gun and fired shots, according to 21Alive.

Julien Kocak, 19, of Celina, Ohio, and a 16-year-old boy from Celina were shot at Ambassador Park in Fort Recovery, Ohio, around 8:40 p.m.

The two were taken to a local hospital. Kocak has since been released and is in jail now. The 16-year-old is still in the hospital, but will be taken to juvenile detention when he is released.

Those older than 18 were booked into Mercer County Jail, while those under 18 were taken to juvenile detention centers.
