85-year-old Indiana Farmer Killed by Equipment Collapse

GREENSBURG, Ind. (AP) _ Authorities in southeastern Indiana say an 85-year-old farmer was killed when a portable grain elevator collapsed onto him.

The Decatur County sheriff says William Zobel was driving a tractor with a mowing attachment Thursday evening when it struck the grain elevator on his farm near Greensburg.

Sheriff Greg Allen tells the Greensburg Daily News that a neighbor's 16-year-old son saw the collapse and had relatives call for help to the scene about 50 miles southeast of Indianapolis.

Allen says it appears Zobel died from head injuries and that the collapse looks like an accident.
