FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): More than 80 four-legged friends were adopted in Fort Wayne over the weekend.

The Northern Indiana Pet Expo brought 75 different vendors and 12 animal rescues to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Saturday and Sunday, according to our news partners 21Alive.

About 4,000 people attended the event. Expo-goers attended educational sessions, watched performing cats and dogs, bought goodies for their pets and adopted animals.

“It is a really great place for pet owners and pet lovers to come together under one roof,” Executive Director of the Allen County SPCA Jessica Henry told 21Alive.

A 4-year-old coonhound mix from the Allen County SPCA was among the pets adopted. Courtney was a longtime resident of the shelter who was returned to the shelter twice. On Sunday, she was adopted and will live with two of her beagle siblings. All three dogs are Allen County SPCA alumni, according to the Allen County SPCA’s Facebook page.

Eighty-five cats and dogs were adopted during the event.
