8 Indiana School Chiefs Head to White House

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The U.S. Department of Education has selected eight Indiana superintendents to participate in a White House meeting on digital learning.

Chosen to attend the meeting Wednesday were Ann Linson of the East Noble School Corp., John Trout of the Madison-Grant United School Corp., Sandra Weaver of the Metropolitan School District of Wabash County, Casey Brewster of the Paoli Community School Corp., Stacey Schmidt of the Porter Township School Corp., David Hoffert of the Warsaw Community Schools, Nikki Woodson of the Washington Township Schools in Indianapolis, and Jennifer McCormick of the Yorktown Community Schools.

The Education Department says the eight are among superintendents leading their districts in the transition to digital learning. Obama announced a plan last year to connect most students to high-speed Internet and empower teachers with needed technology.
