INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Five Indiana health centers will receive federal funding to broaden access to dental care.
Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell announced $1.92 million in support Thursday for new dentists, dental hygienists, assistants, aides and technicians at the health centers in Gary, Indianapolis, Richmond and Valparaiso.
Receiving $350,000 awards each are Wayne County, Healthlinc Inc. of Valparaiso, the Jane Pauley Community Health Center in Indianapolis, and Porter Starke Services in Gary. A second Indianapolis health center, Healthnet Inc., is receiving about $525,000.
Nationwide, the grants total nearly $156 million in funding to support 420 health centers in 47 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
