Inmate dies after heart attack at DeKalb County Jail

AUBURN, Ind. (WOWO):  The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department is reporting the death of an inmate.

Charles W. Croft, 48, is said to have suffered an apparent heart attack while in the DeKalb County Jail.  The jail staff administered CPR until the EMS arrived.  Croft was taken to Parkview Regional Hospital where he later died at 9:52 a.m. Saturday morning.

Croft was an inmate at the jail since May 7th, 2015.  He was scheduled for trial on March 29th, 2016 on charges of Child Molesting.

An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday, March 6th.  The investigation is ongoing.

My name is Rebecca Sparkman my husband Carlos Sparkman was an inmate in DeKalb Jail in 2014. He had medical problems & I believe that the Jail was not guvubg him all his medication that he needed for his heart condition & went they let him go to a half way place he passed away on September 27 2014.
