OHIO (WOWO): Ohio police caught more than 24,000 impaired drivers last year for the fourth year in a row.

In 2015, crashes involving intoxicated or impaired drivers accounted for 365 deaths in Ohio, or 35 percent of all the state’s fatal crashes, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Ohio police also say 71 percent of people arrested were men and 53 percent were in their 20s and 30s.

Troopers are focusing on impaired driving in 2016 and are asking Ohio residents to help keep the roadways safe.

“We need motorists to commit to keeping our roads safe by planning ahead to designate a driver and insisting that everyone in the vehicle is buckled up,” Lt. Tim Grigsby said. “You can also help fight the battle against impaired driving by actively influencing friends and family to do the same.”
