4 Indiana Recycling Companies Get $600K In Grants

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Indiana is awarding $600,000 to four companies that recycle materials including metals and discarded wood under a program that boosts the state's recycling industry.

The Recycling Market Development Program announced Tuesday the companies receiving the grants will commit nearly $2.9 million to their operations and the funding will create 35 new jobs.

Grants awarded through the state program help fund operations that reduce waste streams and expand the use of recyclable materials in the manufacturing process.

The four companies receiving grants ranging from $125,000 to $175,000 are GreenCycle of Indiana and Technology Recyclers, both located in Marion County, and Petoskey Plastics Inc. and Reflective Industries LLC, both in Blackford County.

The companies will use the funding to purchase equipment used to sort, shred and otherwise process recyclable materials.
