3 Indiana Colleges to Share Crime Information

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – Three northern Indiana colleges in close proximity are working on a way to quickly alert each other when a student is a crime victim.

Holy Cross College Dean of Students Kelly Jordan tells the South Bend Tribune (http://bit.ly/1umZWqA ) he's working with the University of Notre Dame and St. Mary's College to set up the system. He says when necessary, Holy Cross officials will notify their students via text message if there is an attempted robbery, break-in or other incident involving students from any of the schools.

There has been heightened concern about crime in the South Bend area. Two Holy Cross students were shot in an apparent robbery attempt in October and on several Holy Cross students reported someone fired gunshots at their rental house in November.
