FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The 21st North East Indiana Honor flight took off from the 122nd Fighter Wing Thursday morning.

On the A-321, there are a total of 84 veterans, 44 World War II veterans and 40 Korean War Veterans. Wheels were up at 8:21 a.m., for the veterans and their guardians. The veterans will spend the day touring the Washington D.C., memorials built to honor the sacrifices they made.

If you want to help welcome these heroes home, you can do so at the Fort Wayne International Airport between 8:30 p.m., and 9:00 p.m., this evening. The airport authority will be taking care of parking so it won’t cost you anything.

Meanwhile, if you’re interested in getting involved with the honor flight or you want to donate, visit http://www.hfnei.org/.
