FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A proposed distribution center could possibly create 200 new Fort Wayne jobs.

In December 2014, NorthPoint Development bought 40 acres in the Stonebridge Business Park for $2.1 million. The park is located near Fogwell Parkway and Lafayette Center Road.

The company also filed an application for a $2.85 million in tax abatements with the County Department of Planning Services.

The 791,000-square-foot center is expected to cost $32 million. Up to 200 people are expected to be hired at the distribution center with an average salary of $30,000.

The details of the project and the identity of the tenant haven’t been released yet. NorthPoint President Chad Meyer told the News-Sentinel the distribution center would make the automotive industry more efficient and reliable.

Construction of the distribution center could begin in July and is expected to be completed by May 2017.
