200 cases of hot dog chili sauce recalled, incorrect labeling

Recall

INDIANA, (WOWO) – Vietti Foods has recalled approximately 200 cases of hot dog chili sauce because they contain chicken and dumplings instead, according to our partners in news at ABC 21.

The 15 oz. cans of Southgate Hot Dog Chili Sauce were distributed to seven customers in 13 states including Alabama, Ohio, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Missouri, Texas, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Florida and Georgia.

Recalled cans will have the code P642 M1217 70026 listed on the bottom.

An investigation revealed the problem was caused by the mislabeling of cans at the end of a production run, but no other products were affected.

People with an allergy to eggs and/or wheat, both components of chicken and dumplings, run the risk of a serious or life-threatening reaction. So far, no illnesses have been reported.

Anyone who bought a 15 oz. recalled can of Southgate Hot Dog Chili Sauce is asked to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. For questions, contact the company at 1-615-244-7864.
