20 Ohio Veterans to be Honored for Service After Military

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ Twenty new members will be inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame in honor of their service to the community after serving in the military.

The induction ceremony for the 2015 class will be Nov. 5 at the Lincoln Theater in Columbus. Ohio veterans and the public are invited to attend. The latest class will join the 478 others already in the Hall.

The Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame was established in 1992 to recognize the post-military achievements of veterans in community service after their military service ended. Charter members of the 1993 class included the six Ohio military veterans elected U.S. president and all Medal of Honor recipients from Ohio.

Honorees over the past 22 years include astronauts, government officials, police officers, community leaders and veterans' advocates.
