2 Wounded by Bloomington Officer after Rape Report

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – Police say two men who were wounded by an officer are among three arrested after a possible rape was reported near the Indiana University campus in Bloomington.

Bloomington police Capt. Joe Qualters says an officer arrived at the home about 4:30 a.m. Sunday and found the door partially open. Qualters says two shots were fired from inside after the officer shouted “police,'' then two men climbed out a window and ran.

The Herald-Times reports (http://bit.ly/1qzT9sh ) the officer shot the two 19-year-old Indianapolis men after a shot was fired at him. Qualters says the officer wasn't injured, while one man was shot in the arm and the other in the leg.

The wounded men face preliminary charges including rape and attempted murder. The third man faces burglary and other charges.
