12-Year Old In Critical Condition after Driver Falls Asleep at Wheel

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A 12-year-old girl is in critical condition after the car she was riding in was rear-ended by a man who fell asleep at the wheel.

According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, 22-year-old Bradley Lowery of Huntertown, told police he fell asleep at the wheel and didn’t know what happened.

Sunday morning, Lowery was driving southbound on U.S. 3 near State Road 205 just before noon, when he hit a car stopped at a light. The vehicle then went into a ditch and police say the passenger in the car, 12-year-old Hannah Katinsky, suffered skull and leg fractures and a neck injury. She was last listed in critical condition.

The driver of that vehicle, 48-year-old Nola Katinsky, suffered minor injuries.
