12 Vehicles Involved in Northern Indiana Crash

NAPPANEE, Ind. (AP) – Authorities say at least 12 vehicles were involved in a crash in northern Indiana that injured at least six people.

Elkhart County Sheriff's Capt. Jim Bradberry says it doesn't appear any of the injuries from the Thursday afternoon collision are serious. A nursing supervisor at Elkhart General Hospital says six people were being evaluated for injuries, but she didn't have any further information.

The accident occurred on County Road 19 about 2 miles north of Nappanee about 2:30 p.m. Bradberry says initial reports indicate blowing snow caused visibility problems. The Elkhart Truth reports authorities tried to bring in a helicopter to transport a victim from the scene, but it had to turn back because of the weather.
