Swayzee police investigate early morning stabbing

SWAYZEE, Ind. (WOWO): A 47-year-old  man was stabbed multiple times in Swayzee early Tuesday morning.

The Swayzee Police Department were called to the area of 100 West Wilson Street on reports of a stabbing. When crews arrived, they found Kenneth Haynes suffering from multiple stab wounds, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. 

He was hospitalized and had surgery at a Fort Wayne hospital. He is now in stable condition.

Police questioned Daniel Clem of Marion about the stabbing. He admitted to stabbing Haynes, but said he was defending himself, according to police.

The case is still under investigation and no one has been arrested. The case will be turned over to the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office.
