Retired Angola Fire Department K-9 dies

ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO): A retired Angola Fire Department K-9 has died.

The fire department announced the death of Deacon, a German Shepherd. He served on the department for 10 years before retiring in April 2014, according to the Angola Fire Department’s Facebook page.

Deacon has investigated more than 3.5 million dollars in fire losses during his time with the department. When the K-9 retired he went on to live with his handler Erich Kaiser.

“He will be missed by the entire fire family,” the department said on Facebook.
