FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne Police are investigating the death of a person who was found on fire early Tuesday morning.

Both police and the Fort Wayne Fire Department were called to the alley behind a home in the 1000 block of Kinsmoor Avenue, a couple of blocks west of Packard Park, at 2:10 a.m. for what they thought was just a trash can on fire.

They soon found out that it wasn’t just the trash can, but a person was on fire as well. The fire was put out, and the victim, described as a male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing, and his death is being considered “suspicious.”
