GREENFIELD, Ind. (AP) _ Guns, knives and ammunition valued at more than $1 million will be auctioned to help settle the estate of a central Indiana man who was shot and killed by his wife before he could open fire on police.
The Indianapolis Star reports the collection belonging to 57-year-old Gary Roberts will be sold Dec. 1.
Elizabeth Roberts shot her husband of 31 years on Sept. 27 after she told him police knew about his weapons and were coming to their home. Court documents say Gary Roberts had been suicidal and pledged to kill any officers who arrived.
Prosecutors said Elizabeth Roberts ``acted in defense of others'' and declined to charge her. She died of an apparent overdose Nov. 1.
Proceeds from the auction will go to Gary Roberts' estate.
