SPENCER, Ind. (AP) - A southern Indiana attorney who told authorities someone shot him as he was jogging at a state park has pleaded guilty to concocting the story after shooting himself.

44-year-old Peter Raventos of Spencer pleaded guilty last week in an Owen County court to misdemeanor false informing. He was sentenced one day in jail and ordered to serve a year on probation.

Raventos is also banned from all state parks and wildlife areas.

The Herald-Times reports Raventos used bungee cords and fishing line in June 2012 to rig a shotgun to shoot himself in the backside at McCormick's Creek State Park.

That shooting came three days before he was scheduled to appear in court because he was behind in child support payments.
