NW Indiana Call Center Plans Adding 300 Workers Created by kblakeslee on 7/25/2013 11:43:11 AM
HOBART, Ind. (AP) _ A northwestern Indiana call center says it is adding at least 300 workers in the next couple months after signing contracts with two companies in the health care industry.
The hiring at Teleperformance Americall in Hobart comes after it added 600 jobs last summer. Center director Scott Amo tells The Times of Munster that round of hiring came because of business growth with existing clients that include Sears and Comcast.
Amo says most of the call center's new jobs will be in customer service and sales. He declined to identify the center's new clients.
The new employees will have a starting salary of $10 per hour and will handle customer calls, such as people needing information about health care.
