Outside Review of ISTEP Glitches Nears Completion Created by kblakeslee on 7/9/2013 3:44:22 PM
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Indiana parents could get their children's scores on the annual ISTEP+ exams in about a month following a delay in tabulation caused by computer disruptions while students took the spring test.
Department of Education spokesman David Galvin tells the Evansville Courier & Press that a third-party review ordered by state schools Superintendent Glenda Ritz is expected to wrap up this month. The Department of Education will then finalize and mail ISTEP+ scores to school districts.
Districts typically receive results in May and mail them to parents about a week later.
Thousands of Indiana students' tests were disrupted over several days this spring due to glitches with the online system operated by CTB/McGraw-Hill.
The review by Richard Hill will determine whether those students' scores are valid.
