HENRYVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ Volunteers are set to help with a one-day project to build a new playground in a southern Indiana town still recovering from a devastating tornado that hit last year.
The playground equipment at the Henryville Youth Sports Complex will be built Saturday, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony planned for that afternoon.
The News and Tribune reports that employees of the AmeriHealth Caritas Partnership and MDwise Hoosier Alliance obtained a $50,000 grant for the project and $40,000 more was raised locally.
The partnership focuses on providing low-income areas with safe play areas to combat childhood obesity.
Much of Henryville was badly damaged by the March 2012 tornadoes that killed 14 people across southern Indiana and damaged or destroyed hundreds of homes and businesses.
