MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ A man initially suspected of involvement in the murder of an Indiana University student who vanished during a 2000 bike ride has testified he had nothing to do with her death.
Uriah Clouse testified during Tuesday's hearing for John R. Myers II, the man who's serving a 65-year-old sentence in the slaying of 19-year-old Bloomington native Jill Behrman.
Clouse testified as part of Myers' petition for post-conviction relief that police harassed him and didn't believe his alibi indicating he wasn't involved in Behrman's death.
The Herald-Times reports two state public defenders allege Myers' trial attorney disregarded evidence indicating Clouse was in a vehicle that struck Behrman as she rode her bicycle in Bloomington on May 31, 2000. Her remains were found in 2003 in rural Morgan County.
