GARY, Ind. (AP) _ Northwestern Indiana authorities have charged a Gary man with murder for allegedly fatally shooting two men who gave him a ride from a gasoline station.

Twenty-year-old Samuel Franklin was charged Monday with two counts of murder in the deaths of 21-year-old Terrell Frazier and 18-year-old Deshalone Williams.

The Times of Munster reports that witnesses told police Williams was driving his car Jan. 14 with Frazier in the back seat when they stopped at a gas station and Franklin climbed into the car.

A probable cause affidavit says Franklin asked Williams to stop at an intersection and then said, ``This is the procedure,'' before fatally shooting both men in the head.

Investigators believe the victims had argued previously with Franklin about a burglary where a shotgun was taken.
