The northwestern Indiana police officer who was shot during a bank robbery last week is out of the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. Hammond Police Chief Brian Miller says the officer suffered three gunshot wounds in the leg after arriving at Friday's robbery. The officer was released from the hospital on Sunday and spent Christmas Day with his family. The two Gary men charged with the robbery and shooting are in custody.
