INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Prosecutors have requested life without parole for a murder defendant caught on surveillance video skipping away from the fatal shooting of an Indianapolis convenience store clerk.
Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry announced Thursday it has filed the sentence request against Desi Thomas Jr. Thomas faces two counts of murder and robbery in connection with the fatal shooting of 45-year-old Harry Briggs during a June 4 holdup at Joe's Junction on the city's southwest side.
Curry says the shooting of Briggs was ``cold-blooded'' and that Thomas deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison.
Court documents say Thomas pointed a gun at Briggs and another employee before shooting Briggs three times.
A message seeking comment was left for one of Thomas' attorneys.
