ELKHART, Ind. (AP) _ Two northern Indiana police officers who ended a January supermarket attack that killed two people are set to return to duty.
The Elkhart Police Department said Tuesday that Cpl. Jason Tripp and Cpl. Cody Skipper will return to duty on Wednesday, nearly three months after Jan. 15 shootings at Martin's Super Market.
Internal affairs office head Lt. Mike Sigsbee says in a statement a review has found neither officer violated policy or training.
The Elkhart Truth reports neither officer wished to make a public statement about their return to duty.
Two women, 20-year-old employee Krystle Dikes and 44-year-old customer Rachelle Godfread, died when 22-year-old Shawn Bair opened fire inside the supermarket the night of Jan. 15.
The General Assembly honored Skipper and Tripp for their bravery in February.
