WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP): Historian Douglas Brinkley is visiting Purdue University for a lecture on Neil Armstrong that will include audio recordings from his interviews with the lunar pioneer.
Purdue President Mitch Daniels will introduce Brinkley during Wednesday night's lecture at the Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse that's free and open to the public.
In 2001, Brinkley interviewed Armstrong for the Johnson Space Center's Oral History Project. He'll share some of those audio recordings during his speech on the West Lafayette campus.
Armstrong, who died in 2012, graduated from Purdue in 1955 with a degree in aeronautical engineering.
He went on to become a NASA astronaut and in 1969, Armstrong became the first person to set foot on the moon.
