ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): With as much as two inches of rain expected to fall today, you’re being reminded about the possibility of flash flooding.

It can happen rapidly and unexpectedly and can occur after a few minutes of heavy rain fall or after hours of steady precipitation.

Indiana State Police are reminding you not to drive around barricades at water crossings, or even cross areas with surface floods that aren't barricaded. They say six inches of water will reach the bottoms of most car doors. One foot of water will float many vehicles, and two feet of moving water can carry away most vehicles. If you do drive through standing water, it could also impact your brakes, so test them at low speeds as soon as you get out of the water.print
