Hagel clears committee to be Defense Secretary
A few minutes ago former liberal Republican turned Democrat Chuck Hagel was cleared by the Senate defense committee on a bitter party-line vote.
The gun debate is important and interesting. The nuclear debate could make guns irrelevant.
Hagel headed a group that released a report with his support calling for nuclear disarmament. First he tried to say that he didn't but Republican Senators released quotes saying he supported that position. He had to retreat.
Can you think of anything more STUPID than nominating a defense secretary who favors disarming the US (which is how disarmament works - we sent an example, then others will be so moved they will follow our lead (yeah right) - THE DAY AFTER NORTH KOREA EXPLODED AN ENHANCED NUCLEAR WEAPON!
What an introduction to the State of the Union address.
They want to prove the gun rights argument on steroids.
If we give up our nukes, only the criminals will have nukes. Great strategy.
