Pence says he plans reaching out to Democrats...

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) _ Indiana Gov.-elect Mike Pence says he will reach out to Democrats to try to work together after he takes office next month, saying it will take people across the political spectrum to make Indiana great.

The Republican congressman made a stop Thursday morning at a diner in South Bend to meet with Republican supporters to thank them for helping him win November's election.

It is part of what he's calling his ``thank you'' tour of the state Thursday and Friday, saying he was paying a debt of gratitude to his supporters. He also shook hands with people eating at the diner as he left.

Pence also plans to make stops in Fort Wayne, Evansville and Terre Haute.
