Second Student Dies from Richmond Train Accident

RICHMOND, Ind. (AP) - Officials say a second student from an eastern Indiana college has died after being hit by a train more than two weeks ago.

Richmond police say Lenore Edwards of St. Louis died Sunday. She had been in critical condition at a Dayton, Ohio, hospital, where she was taken after she and two other Earlham College students were hit about 1:15 a.m. Nov. 9 near a group of nightclubs.

Edwards was a sophomore at Earlham. Therese Heymann of Burlingame, Calif., died at the scene and Graham Nissen of Columbus, Ind., suffered less serious injuries.

The Palladium-Item reports (http://pinews.co/Tm9Yq5 http://pinews.co/Tm9Yq5 ) train personnel told police that the students were standing too close to the tracks just before they were hit. Investigators say they're still reviewing what happened.
